Ultimate Fighting Strength Coach Launches New Fitness Program in Providence

Starting October 6th, a new fitness program will be available in North Providence, RI. Sean Flanagan, Personal Trainer to professional athletes such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Jorge Rivera, is conducting these sessions geared towards the general public. He explains “taking the same types of workouts as used used with my pro fighters, these classes are a serious workout. They deliver all of the intensity that you’d expect from a pro athlete’s training regimine, but are arranged in a way that anybody can do them”.

Sean Flanagan is one of only a handful of certified coaches in Circular Strength Training (CST), a multi-faceted approach to fitness developed originally for providing career longevity to combat athletes. CST consists of exercises taken from a broad spectrum of fitness traditions, incorporating movements from Eastern European folk exercise, yoga, and weighted Club swinging with a tool called a Clubbell. CST has been utilized by professional sports teams, first responders, celebrities, and by military personnel at the US Army Combatives School. According to Flanagan, “People are getting tired of conventional exercise programs. They are looking for something more exciting than sitting at a machine and and performing overly simplistic movements. CST provides an alternative to this”.

This program costs $100 dollars per month and prospective members are encouraged to try out their first class for free. Sessions are 35 to 45 minutes in length and are held at Tim Burrill Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at 862 Charles Street in North Providence, RI on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11:30am and Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:00pm.
